    I found out about the Dulles Gateway Pet Retreat when I needed to board my Black Lab "Georgia" one weekend. I've been back three times since and love it.
    What is also nice is the dog park on the premises. We go there a lot. Georgia has a lot of energy and can be out of control at times. The moment we come to the traffic light by the bowling lanes, she knows right where she's going - her own private playground. I come armed with several tennis balls and a lot of water. She hates to leave.

Pender Obedience Classes

Pender Emergency Centre

  • Two Sundays ago, my pooch got into some deer guts. He was throwing up all over the place and I called another emergency clinic for help. What a bunch of losers! Then I called Pender. I was treated immediately with respect and transferred to a technician. I told him what was going on. He consulted with a doctor and a minute or two later gave me possibilities of what could happen through Wednesday. I couldn't have asked for more. You have a tough job there, and you do it with professionalism and respect to patients and clients. Thank you!  - Mark Sonder
  • "We want to thank the wonderful emergency staff for helping us when we ran into a problem while whelping our German Shorthair Pointer, Lucy. She had four puppies at home and then quit contracting, though we knew she had four more inside. The veterinary technician, Tiffany, and Dr. Grant Richards were so helpful. They could not have been more supportive and accommodating. When even three shots of Oxytocin didn't jump start labor, Dr. Julie Brown performed an emergency C-section. Dr. Brown was so warm and confident that we felt comfortable leaving our 'mom' in her hands, and she was as excited as we were when she called to tell us that four of the five puppies inside Lucy were saved. Spending the night in a veterinary clinic is not something most of us want to do, but your team made it as comfortable as possible for us. They really cared about us and our animals.   • "When we took our cat, Baby, home after her dental cleaning and tooth extraction with Dr. Voell, we noticed an immediate difference in her behavior even though she had just had surgery that day. We also noticed a difference in her playing, as she seemed to have more energy and when she chews on toys or plays tug-of-war, she actually bites down hard now.
