- Education:
BS from the University of Connecticut in 1994. DVM from Auburn University in 2001. Internship at a specialty hospital in Northern Virginia then served as an emergency and critical care veterinarian there from 2002-2003. Worked in emergency medicine at a specialty hospital in Massachusetts from 2003-2005. Returned to a specialty hospital in Northern Virginia from 2005-2011.
I grew up in a small town in Northern Connecticut. My family rented a 13-acre farm, and I was lucky enough to grow up with horses, cows, chickens, dogs and cats. I have been surrounded by animals for as long as I can remember. It was no surprise to all my family that I majored in animal science and decided to go on to vet school.
