Services
Pender Veterinary Centre has been serving the Northern Virginia
area since 1971, and our hospital has expanded to meet the
area’s growing needs. Our doctors have a variety of
interests including internal medicine, cardiology, ophthalmology,
and dermatology and allergy treatment; geriatric and reproductive
medicine; orthopedics, surgery, laser surgery, ultrasonography
and endoscopy. The diverse interests of this group allow them
to consult with each other about your pet’s health and
provide a higher quality of medicine at no extra cost to you.
We also offer state-of-the-art dental care, ranging from routine
cleaning of your pet’s teeth to extensive dental work
including extractions, dental x-rays, and root canals.
With modern facilities and state-of-the-art equipment, Pender
Veterinary Centre strives to be on the cutting edge of veterinary
medicine, while still providing the individual attention each
animal and owner deserves. Committed to higher standard of
care, Pender Veterinary Centre offers an array of services
for companion animals, including:
- Preventative Care
- Radiography
- Ultrasound
- Orthopedic Surgery
- Laser Surgery
- Dentistry
- In-House Laboratory
Pender also offers boarding facilities for cats, small dogs
and any animal requiring special veterinary care. We also
offer a “drop off” service that allows you to
leave your pet with us for the day to be examined by a doctor
while you are at work or out running errands. You can discuss
the results of your pet’s exam either by phone or when
you pick your pet up later that day.
Tours
Pender Veterinary Centre is a Merit Hospital Design winner
and we welcome tours. Tours are available for grade school groups. Each group of 10–15
children will receive a guided tour of the hospital facilities
followed by a training session and a brief videotape dealing
with some of the practical aspects of safety with animals.
Training will focus on a child’s correct response to
a strange dog. Tours are scheduled Monday through Friday.
Please call to make arrangements.
Adoption Program
The Pender Cat Adoption Program was started with the cooperation
of Fairfax County Animal Shelter. The purpose of the program
is to give a second chance to young adult cats by finding
them new, loving homes. Pender Veterinary Centre provides
full physical examinations for these cats and tests them
for feline leukemia before placing them into the adoption
program.
