PERSONAL INTERESTS
When I’m not at work, I love to be creative in any way I can, be it through cooking, painting, or crafting. I love music, especially percussion, and am a dedicated alumna of the UMD drumline. Recently, I have been expanding my board game collection and love having game nights with friends. I currently have two cats, Lily and Macaroni, and a prehensile-tailed skink named Grumpus.
EDUCATION

HOW I GOT HERE
I grew up in northern New Jersey and have always had a curiosity and compassion for animals. I discovered the world of veterinary medicine at the start of my undergraduate career. I started out mainly in shelter medicine, volunteering at local TNR clinics and rescues, and eventually joined the board of the Shelter Medicine Club at Penn. At the same time, I developed an extensive biomedical and comparative research background. Research gave me a deeper understanding of evidence-based medicine and allowed me to advocate for the humane treatment of animals in science. My love for zoo and exotic animal medicine grew in vet school, as I gained experience through elective courses, shadowing, and externships. My externships included the ASPCA Forensic Medicine Unit, National Aquarium in Baltimore, and University of Illinois Zoo Pathology Service. Working at Pender gives me the opportunity to continue learning new and exciting things every day. I’m happy to have found a practice where I can follow my passion for both small animal and exotic medicine while working with a great team to provide the best possible care!
