HOW I GOT HERE

I was born and raised in Michigan and have always been fascinated and enamored with animals, gravitating towards books and movies featuring our furry friends. After graduating from the University of Michigan, I moved to Virginia as an assistant at a veterinary clinic in Alexandria. It was a wonderful experience that cemented my desire to become a veterinarian. I graduated from the Purdue School of Veterinary Medicine in 2012 adopting two cats along the way. The cats and I returned to my home state of Michigan, where I worked for two years in a small animal private practice. While I enjoyed my time in Michigan, I found myself wanting to come back to Virginia.

Pender Veterinary Service allowed me to return to the state I love. And, what a tremendous hospital group to have joined. It is thrilling and gratifying to be part of such a world-class organization.

I enjoy the diversity and richness of veterinary medicine. From the variety of cases to the range of emotions, it is one job that will never be boring.
