Dr. Veronica Garcia DeMarco
PROFESSIONAL INTERESTS
Every day, I get to be a part of the relationship between a pet parent and their beloved animal. I love being a veterinarian and I enjoy all aspects of my job…except the paperwork! However, if I had to pick my special interests, they would definitely be emergency medicine and critical care.
PERSONAL INTERESTS
I enjoy traveling with family and friends, especially to places with beautiful landscapes and wildlife. I enjoy hiking, spending time at the beach, and trying new restaurants. If I don’t make it out of the house, I’m just as content watching my favorite TV series. Luckily, I’m never alone. I have Wookiee (a demanding Lhasa Apso), Roscoe (a crazy little terrier-mix), and Dan (my ever-so-patient husband) to keep me company.
EDUCATION
The Ohio State University, College of Veterinary Medicine
HOW I GOT HERE
Besides the four years I lived in Ohio for veterinary school, I have spent all of my life in the DC metro area. I grew up loving all creatures and being a veterinarian has always been my dream. Although my family always encouraged me to follow my passion, I initially decided to pursue a more “practical” route. I worked for a few years as a management consultant at a top consulting firm before I decided to follow my dream. It was a long and challenging journey, but I finally did it!
